Be Forgiven ; Find Peace

Have you ever heard someone say something and thought I knew that, but it makes so much more sense now than ever before! I seem to have those moments more and more lately. Aww shucks, I guess I’m growing up, y’all…
My dad leads the singing at my church – Victory Baptist Church, aka, best church EVER. The choir sang “I’d Rather have Jesus” on a recent Sunday morning. After the song was done, dad mentioned to the congregation that wealth and material things would be gone one day, but the peace that passes all understanding would enable us to pillow our head each night and rest. That is worth far more than any house, car or toy we could ever possess.  (Major paraphrasing there)
HELLO. That is so true. The more I “grow up” the more I realize, yes, it is nice to have things. There is nothing wrong with having things – as long as you are also giving to the Lord what He requires, which is such a small amount of what He GIVES to us. But knowing that I am right where God wants me to be and I am striving each day to do what He wants me to do – there is nothing like that peace! We all slip from time to time – daily even. We are human. Don’t we forget that sometimes? This leads me to another point…
Forgive others and FORGIVE YOURSELF. We are all going to do things that make us say, That’s not me! I don’t say things or do things like that! Guess what…everyone has felt that way. Let it go. Make things right with whomever you need to and LET IT GO. God has forgiven everyone in the entire world, and this includes me and you, friend! Accept His forgiveness first of all, forgive others and forgive yourself.
p.s. I have been so busy at work that “Favorite Song Fridays” has slipped my mind. I am going to get back into that eventually, but it may be a while. For now…enjoy the music on the blog. Skip through the songs and check each one out. They are definitely some of my faves!

  1. Great point! And it's so particularly hard for GIRLS to let go! What a great reminder... thanks for that! :)
